How Can cough And Fever Along With Fatigue Be Treated?

I have had an ongoing (3-4 weeks) wet sounding, hacking, non productive cough, low grade temperature 99.0-100.5, generalized aching, extreme fatigue and a raised rash on my chest. I tested positive for the flu and mono in the office. Lungs were coarse with expiratory wheezing. chest x-ray was negative. My doctor is treating the cough with an albuterol inhaler and tesalon pearls and a penecilin shot in his office 2 weeks ago. Symptoms seemed slightly better after a week off work, but now back to full activity they symptoms have fully returned. I do have horses and am frequently in the barn caring for them. My day job is in the ICU unit at the veterans hospital. Any advice something I should check out?

Hi,

You are having bronchitis-like lower respiratory tract infection and so wheezing was present.

It could be again viral bronchitis or allergic bronchitis.

You need to investigate further with your AEC count, allergic testing and spirometry. If needed than you might prescribe you regular Foracort inhaler for a few days.

I suggest you consult a pulmonologist for detailed chest evaluation and above investigations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
